Finally we got an answer and it wasn't a yes. In a way, I'm relieved because I knew it would've been almost impossible to shoot this thing in May. Of course, yes is better than no but I'm being patient. Someone right will come along and make my movie happen.

Tonight I went to the opening reception for the Pier Paolo Pasolini retrospective at the Korean Cinematheque. I even got to meet the Italian Ambassador. It was cool. Afterwards, I went out drinking with fellow Korean directors. Bong Joon-ho (THE HOST), who's always a fun drinking buddy, however, was sick and couldn't join us.

BTW, congrats to him! His movie is performing quite well in the States. The question is, will it surpass Kim Ki-duk's SPRING, SUMMER, FALL, WINTER AND SPRING, the top grossing Korean film in the States. There's a strong chance. We shall see.

Just arrived in Seoul a few weeks ago. Fascinating city and even better now that it is starting to get warm.

I am anxious to explore it some more. Head some great jazz at the Once in a Blue Moon last night. Any suggestions of must-see places while I am here for a few months?

Sorry to hear of the "no". Hope you are not too disappointed. As you wrote, someone "even better" will come along and make it happen. Keep the faith. Providence is looking out for you.

(just found your blog via IMDB and brand new to this blogging thing---I know, where have I been asleep for the past 10 years?)

Gee, I don't know where to begin. You know, I don't go out that much in Seoul. Still, what kind of places do you want me to recommend? Let me know.

I'm a lazy blogger. I've been doing this for a while though. Time flies.
