Finally we got an answer and it wasn't a yes. In a way, I'm relieved because I knew it would've been almost impossible to shoot this thing in May. Of course, yes is better than no but I'm being patient. Someone right will come along and make my movie happen.
Tonight I went to the opening reception for the Pier Paolo Pasolini retrospective at the Korean Cinematheque. I even got to meet the Italian Ambassador. It was cool. Afterwards, I went out drinking with fellow Korean directors. Bong Joon-ho (THE HOST), who's always a fun drinking buddy, however, was sick and couldn't join us.
BTW, congrats to him! His movie is performing quite well in the States. The question is, will it surpass Kim Ki-duk's SPRING, SUMMER, FALL, WINTER AND SPRING, the top grossing Korean film in the States. There's a strong chance. We shall see.
