Last night, I went to an event hosted by Filmmakers Alliance to give an honorary award to the legendary Werner Herzog.
It was so inspiring to hear him talk. He said now filmmakers have no excuse but to make movies. We have the means available to us. This is the man who has been making movies for over 40 years and hasn't stopped making them. Whether it's a documentary or a feature, he's always seeking the truth.
Zak Penn, who introduced him onstage, remarked that Herzog was once injured with a bullet during an interview with a journalist but he insisted he continue the interview. He's truly a mad man and that's what it takes to make movies.
Danke, Herr Herzog!
