Vonage (www.vonage.com) is awesome!!! It's making my life easier. Although I've been in Korea the past several months, I have been able to keep in touch with many colleagues and friends from the States as if I were still in the States.
For instance, I could leave a message for someone leaving my U.S. vonage number and he/she would call back thinking I'm in LA. How cool is that? Of course, it means I will be up all night often but I do that all the time anyway.

I have that kind of trouble when someone from the US calls me. they're 5 hours behind so when I'm sleeping someone is calling me :P

The Skype to Skype calls are clearer than Vonage, and SkypeIn gives me incoming numbers like Vonage.
